The exhaust system was completely rusted, I needed a new catback exhaust complete with catalytic converter.
I've blown the head gasket, cracked the radiator, ripped the tread on 3 tires, 2 new thermostats and so far, 4 oil changes.
The fuel pump has blown, and the float on the gas tank stuck to the wall.
Body rust.
Despite all the problems, I have hooked up this car, and it is looking amazing now. With a little more body work, this car will look much better than the new Civic's on the road, as it already outperforms the new Si models.
Well how about this I have a 90 civic dx and it has about 330,000 on it with all the original parts besides the clutch and clutch kit which I have upgraded with McCleod parts the main thing is don't race your car, learn how to shift right because that's what will blow the head gaskets, keep up on the basic maintence, and baby the car so you don't have problems like this.
First off the honda once rust starts it doesn't stop itll just take off on yah and I agree with the guy before me slow down a little, its the high rpm shifts that are putting pressure on your head gaskets.
My lady has a 90EX and I wanted to know what all you did to yours? Would love to give that car the pep I know it's capable of.
