1999 Honda Civic Si review from North America
"Reliable, fun, sporty, economical transportation"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
This car was inexpensive despite the fact that the dealer charged MSRP. It came fully loaded with power everything, moonroof, CD, etc.
Loads of fun to drive. 160hp out of a 1.6L engine and a 7800 rpm redline. Not a high performance vehicle but handles very well and has good acceleration. The high revving vtec and crisp shifter makes you think you are in a race car.
Only a 5 speed so a bit noisy on the highway. Very reliable. I did 2 or 3 major services and regular oil changes.
Holds its value extremely well so total cost of ownership is very reasonable.
