2002 Honda CR-V EX review from North America
"Good design, but plagued by mechanical problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Engine uses oil like a 2-stroke 1 liter every 600km.
The SRS Light came on it took forever to fix.
The engine hesitates or flutters under moderate to heavy acceleration. They can't fix it and won't admit it is a common problem with CRV.
The Clutch Pedal groans when pressed.
Had to get the Anti-lock brake module replaced. Brake pedal would occasionally fall to the floor. Yikes!!
Gas tank gauge jumps around when tank is totally filled
and than will read OK after burning off a few litres.
Air conditioning stopped working yesterday and I have
read it is very expensive to have fixed.
General comments?
All is not that bad though. I will give you the good
points as will.
The car has a lot of room. Very practical for hauling things that are not too big.
Has always started and has never left me stranded on the
road. I consider this the standard by which all cars should be judged.
The seats are somewhat uncomfortable. but not too bad on short trips.
A little heavy on the Gas, but it is high.
Fit and finish is very nice. So looks better than it works.
