2002 Honda CR-V EX review from North America
"I love Honda - but my CRV must have snuck through Quality Control!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Another CRV story. I LOVE Hondas, this is my third - however, I'm convinced my 2002 CRV is a lemon. The oxygen sensor went out last year (expensive) then the catalytic convertor, THEN in August while driving on the freeway (in Las Vegas heat) my a/c condensor clutched "sheared off" and fell out of my car... yep, the metal condenser clutch actually broke in half and clunked out of my car. (thank goodness there was no one behind me)
Two different repair places both said this is a complete fluke they'd never seen before. $2400 in repair fees later, it was fixed.
Fortunately, Honda paid for half my repair. I was more concerned with any recalls on this, as this could have been unbelievably dangerous...
Unfortunately, my a/c just went out again today. (it's 107 degrees in Vegas) If my repair shop finds fragments like other comments I'm reading, I'm going to bid my CRV farewell for good.
I will definitely consider another Honda sedan in the future, but am pretty leery of the CRV's.
If you have problems like this, contact Honda. They were very helpful with me in helping me pay for my repairs.
Thanks -
