2003 Honda CR-V Canadian EX review from North America
"Spacious, comfortable, reliable, with excellent performance and fuel economy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A rear brake pad delaminated, causing a squeak, requiring the dealership to replace both rear rotors and pads (under warranty).
General comments?
Very good gas mileage for an SUV.
Handles like a charm, but the OEM tires are quite noisy.
No squeaks and rattles, contrary to all my previous vehicles.
Extremely well built vehicle.
The 5-Speed manual transmission, coupled to the 2.4 engine (AKA the K24A) makes this vehicle extremely pleasant to drive, as well as fairly performant.
Very spacious and comfortable. I am impressed even though I'm coming from a Buick...
Too easy to drive fast :-) (I hit the speed limiter - 182 km/h - a few times)
Other than the little problem cited above, the only involvement this vehicle required from me in 44000 km is: a) Weekly fillup of the gas tank, b) Oil changes and recommended maintenance (every 8000km) and c) Fillup of the windshield washer tank (Which contains over 5 litres on the Canadian model - Kudos to Honda!)
