1986 Honda CRX review from North America

Things wrong when I bought it;

Several shocks were broken.

The drivers seat was damaged beyond use.

The radiator needed replaced.

Major body rust.

The subframe was bent, I thought it was the alignment.

Things wrong within two weeks of repair;

The pulley that that powers the alternator literally fell off.

The radio broke.

The radiator cap was broke, leaked and leaked all the coolant out. My brother drove it, overheated it and blew the head gasket.

Some how the idling system stopped working, unless your foots on the gas it will stall.

These cars aren't invincible like some people say, if its been abused it will die. I thought I could fix it so I picked it up cheap, I fixed it up and it immediately broke. I can't really blame the car, it was really the fact that someone beat the crap out of it before I owned it. During the short time I had it running it was an enjoyable car. The handling is truly legendary and the car is surprisingly peppy. The interior is spacious and of relatively high quality. I bought another CRX from the same generation of production and it is much nicer. I posted this review to warn people that Hondas can really turn to crap if someone has abused them so be careful when shopping for one. Always be aware of the head gaskets, they tend to blow easily on Hondas because of there design. Good luck finding a nice one!
