What things have gone wrong with the car?
The front brake pads were replaced and the rotors resurfaced (16000mi).
The wipers have been chattering since car was new.
A "panel pin" one of several that holds the inner cover on the rear hatch fell out.
Tires have lasted on 16000mi.
General comments?
My major complaint about the car is the poor ergonomics for the driver. I am 6ft and after driving the car for 20-30 min the heel of my foot starts to hurt. The gas pedal required me to keep my foot at a "funny" angle fatiguing my foot after 30-40 min of driving. Several of my friends have driven the car and those taller than 5'11'' have the same opinion.
The rear hatch needs to have latch release near the driver and the hatch should lock when closed. (If you open the hatch after locking the doors you have to lock the hatch with the key).
The radio gets poor reception. I have also heard this complaint from other fit owners. Also the radio has a nonstandard opening so you can buy a replacement radio without replacing the radio "dash".
The speakers are poorly placed and its hard to adjust the radio to get a good balance of sound in the car.
The clock and any of the information being displayed in the radios readout gets washed out in the sun making it all, but impossible to see.
The gas in the gas tank makes a sloshing sound when you stop quickly.
The carpets are cheap. Wear spots are already showing.
The front pillars are to thick an block my view.
When looking in the review mirror your view seems distorted as if the mirror or rear glass is bent.
The rear head-rests block the drivers rear view.
