1992 Honda Integra Si from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Words are not strong enough to explain"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I brought the car and being very keen on performance cars I decided to started to modify the the car.

My Integra became very explosive (if you will) of the mark.

And that was only after putting performance headers on it and a racing muffler set up.

That in all raised my horse power from a standard 190 to a average 225.

But it wasn't enough so I spent $500 on air-intake mods which put my horse power up to 285. Which considering the weight of my car I started to become very heavy footed.

The only one problem I had was my two rear engine mounts could not support the power and cracked along with one gear box mount all up $400.

OK that does not bother me all that bothers me is that even before I don't anything to my car it would bet

V-TECH's, but my car is only on Si. I have three friend's that all have

V-TECH Integras and one with a V-TECH Civic and none of them really come close to betting me. One of them was considered one of the fastest honda's in town. All I would like to know is whats the deal with the Si engine.

Another thing is that it didn't have the badges on it when I brought it.

It just had Si onthe owner ship papers. But its not a V-TECH because it dosent Roar like a v-tech please please please if you have any idea please e-male me roddy1803@hotmail.com Cheers.

General comments?

Isn't the integra made by ACURA?

I have one question: you talk about the modifications on the engine and you report high power etc.

How do you actually measure those claimed figures?

Unfotunatly, those power figures are way to high, a VTEC only has 160hp, so his would only be 130max. intake and exhaust add maybe 15-20hp. He is very wrong. You can test the figures on a dyno.

I agree, those power figures are way too high considering the mods. the only way to get that sort of power is with forced induction. the older vtec engines aren't all they're cracked up to be anyway, you really have to rev it hard to notice the difference.

I bought a non vtec Integra that had no badges and it smokes b16a Civics. I don't knwo what has been done to it, but it's unusually fast.

For starters, a standard Si hasn't got 190bhp, that's for b18c5 Acura Integra Type R, I have the JDM Integra Type R with 197bhp the b18c. And I nearly fell off my seat with laughter at his unbelievable hp gains with air intake LOL. Do you really think you have gained 60hp from an air intake???

I'm sorry pal, but you are widely off the mark.

Oh and p.s. my car has t3/t4 turbo upgrade with turbo pistons and intercooler running 5.2 psi and it's running at 300bhp. And you still think yours is only 15hp behind LOL? Seriously, stop kidding yourself and get it on a proper rolling road and get yourself the ACTUAL hp figure... not the one you dream of.

There is not a chance in hell of you achieving those gains without forced induction i.e. supercharger/turbo (as someone has already commented. A Standard JDM Integra Si develops around 180ps/177bhp. With simple breathing mods such as an uprated filter, after-market exhaust, de-cat and headers, you would be hitting close to 200bhp..close, but probably not quite. To go beyond 200bhp, you're then talking about new cams, throttle body and probably an ECU upgrade. These mods should see you hitting 210bhp or thereabouts.

As for the question from someone else around the Integra being made by "Acura", it's made by Honda and is badged only as an "Acura Integra" for the American market.

Oh, if you knew what you were talking about you'd also know that it's "VTEC", not "VTECH".
