2001 Honda Integra Type R review from UK and Ireland
"A rev happy beast!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver window will not close to the top on auto mode - there is a high possibility that this was caused by the company that installed the alarm and not Honda.
General comments?
This is one of the nicest, quickest most reliable cars I know. I bought it from an auction in Japan without ever having seen one in real life and I have absolutely no regrets.
Although they are expensive to bring into Ireland as a result of Vehicle Registration Tax it was worth every penny.
The engine is superb, it revs to 8750 before it hits the limiter and the noise is like something out of this world. It puts a smile on my face every time I walk outside the door.
The thing that impressed me most about the Type R, apart from the performance, is the fact that it still has all the usual comforts like 6 CD front loading head unit with MD, air conditioning, ABS, airbags, electric windows and mirrors etc.
The extras that come on the car really make it special. It has brembo 4 pot brakes as standard, momo steering wheel, red recaro seats, 17" white lightweight racing wheels, 6 speed gearbox, aluminium gear knob and pedals, HID headlights and of course a Limited Slip Differential which ensures brilliant handling.
The interior is really well designed considering Japanese cars normally have very boring and "plasticy" dashboards.
