1995 Honda Odyssey LX review from North America
"This model of van should be kept not destroyed by the more complex modles."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had it checked and all systems are working. The only thing that needs to be replaced is the vanity bulb in the sun visor.
General comments?
After searching and reading and knowing a little about the car industry and reliability of some makes, my decision came down to two makes of minivan. Toyota and Honda, I bought the one with the highest consumer rating, A 1995 Honda minivan with 99,880 miles. Though I am a new owner of a late model vehicle I am mechanicly inclined and understand 95% of car maintenance. All my vehicle purchases are calculated and thought out, and never new,(usually about 5-8 years old) and next to never use a dealer for maintance (to pricey). I was really suprised by the comfort compared to a Ford Windstar I had just rented. One thing you will notice and like is the van is smaller than your average U.S. minivan. When your driving you'll think wow maybe this is not a minivan, then you look back and see all the seats. The only draw back is the carpet, it seems all the vans I looked at had stained carpets, it must be the color or something. I will probably invest in some new floor mats ($95.00) that cover most of the carpet. I really like that it has 4 doors and not those cumbersome sliding doors. My four kids load and unload fast because of the doors. My friends thought it was a tall station wagon. I then repeated that it was a minivan. This minivan seats six and the best seat in the van is the middle seat with plenty of legroom.Dual air conditioning takes care fo the heat in Florida but I would need to tint the windows in South Texas. If your looking for a minivan, purchase a 1995 Honda Odyssey, for even the new (Honda Odyssey) models I feel have gone the way of the larger, gas guzzling, cumbersome sliding door U.S. minivan.
