2001 Honda Odyssey EX review from North America
"It's a minivan! What else can you say?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
If you need a big empty box on wheels, it's probably one of the finest big empty boxes on wheels made today.
Complaints? Well, it's big!
Maintenance? Needed to replace the brake pads, which is not unreasonable considering the weight of the vehicle. Also, replaced 2 brake light bulbs, wiper blades, and a set of tires. I've heard the stories about the power doors and about the automatic transmission, so I bought the Honda extended warranty. Honda subsequently extended the warranty on the transmission to 100,000 miles for free.
My wife doesn't like the lack of rear visibility, so I added a backup radar system. This is probably a common complaint, since Honda introduced an optional rear vision camera system since then.
I've been so impressed by the reliability that after driving European imports for the past 20 years I plan to buy an Acura for my next car.
