2003 Honda Odyssey EX review from North America
"Very comfortable adequate vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing at this time.
General comments?
I have two issues with the factory installed security system. The first is that it does not automatically lock the doors. There are two general methods for determining when to lock the doors. The first is when the shift lever is moved out of Park. I have had another car where this was the method. Te other way was when the car had started to move. I am not sure if the movement itself or the speed was the determining factor. In either case the doors would lock.
The other issue concerns the automatic setting of the alarm. My other car and the cars of other people I have talked to indicate the alarm will automatically activate itself after a short period of time - 30 second to 3 minutes. This is in case I forget to set the alarm myself - like in a rain storm or arms full of groceries.
In both cases, the dealer says that they cannot change these options. In my opinion, both should be standard or at, least, available to be set at customer's discretion.
I intend to find some one who will tell me if these are not available and an after market unit can be added to do these or if the dealer doesn't want to take time to find out.
