2000 Honda Passport LXE review from North America
"This car has been the worst automotive experience of my life"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My engine threw a rod at 76,000 miles. That was 8 months ago and I have barely driven it since.
After getting the engine rebuilt I went through two catalytic converters.
The AC does not work.
The sending unit on the gas gage is broken. (big surprise)
The most troubling problem though is that Randomly as the car is running the right bank of cylinders will shut down and the car will just run on the other three. Then whenever they feel like it the other three will just kick back on. I have had this at two very reputable mechanics who have gone through this thing with a fine tooth comb and do not know what the problem is. I have called around to the local Honda Technicians and no one has ever heard of this before. This car has been sitting in front of my house for over a month now and I have no idea what to do with it.
General comments?
I wish someone would set this thing on fire.
