1983 Honda Prelude review from North America
"A good bargain for the price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's seat is worn out on the left side of the backrest.
Had to replace timing belt and water pump.
Had to replace spark plugs, engine was misfiring.
Carburetor needs to be adjusted, because
gas mileage is currently at 17 miles per gallon on the highway.
Vehicle needs to be repainted, splotches of paint are faded or appear flat in appearance. The previous owner did try to maintain body integrity while in his care.
Sunroof needs to be repaired, the electric motor that opens it does not work.
Headlights work, but will not retract.
May be a bad relay.
I had the transmission flushed using the BG products.
General comments?
This car handles well on cornering, and is very stable on straight aways.
The acceleration is quite acceptable when merging onto the highway.
The previous owner has had the engine rebuilt, and had a radio with a multiple
CD player installed.
The air conditioning works quite well.
The seats are comfortable, though I think that anyone over 5 feet 7 inches
would find the headroom inadequate.
Instrumentation is simple and easy to read.
