1999 Honda Prelude vti review from UK and Ireland
"Very nice car to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear bushes have given me a headache, I get a knocking noise when driving over speed humps (not that bad) my Mechanic thinks it will cost approx 250 to repair as he can't separate it easily and will need to cut the lower arm off with a welding kit. Otherwise (touch wood) nothing has gone wrong.
General comments?
Overall car feels very solid to drive, too be honest I think its quite juicy, but then my good friend has an audi 1.8T and he thinks his is juicy! The VTEC kicks in at 5200rpm the engine will roar and the car feels like it wants to take off, I'm not one for racing and such, but its great when you want to over take. The brakes are pretty good too. I have had no electrical problems, also check your oil weekly, the vtec relies on the oil, the engines are real nice so keep your levels topped up.
The intereior is a bit cramp in the back, but that doesn't bother me :)
4 wheel steering is standard on this car and helps with U turns and general moving about. Be carefull when parking near the curb though (youll see what I mean if you buy one...)
Overall this is a very reliable car (it's a Honda) its got a great sporty drive and will last years. Service this every 9000 miles for trouble free motoring typical serrvicecost is about 180.0 every 9000 miles.
Hope this has helped.
