2008 Honda S2000 GT review from UK and Ireland

Nothing.

Wow! The S2000 remains a performance bargain, despite having been around for several years. It can be driven around town as easily as any other car, but show it an open road and exploit the 9000 RPM rev limit and it flies.

The handling is excellent, though care needs to be taken on wet roads.

Build quality is excellent, and the car comes with items such as leather seats and xenon headlights, which would be an extra on more expensive cars such as the Porsche Boxster or BMW Z4.

Inside the car is comfortable, though the steering wheel lacks adjustment and some may feel that the dash is a little dated.

It is not a quiet car, but the noise from the 4 cylinder engine is much better to listen to than the radio!

The ride, whilst firm as befits a sports car, is not uncomfortable.

The roof is very quick to raise - a point you will appreciate if you come across an unexpected shower.

I paid £23,000 for my pre-registered S2000GT, which is a considerable saving on the list price, and much less than I would have had to pay for the equivalent Porsche or BMW, which are the principal alternatives. I now know why it has appeared at the top of so many owner satisfaction surveys.
