Nothing, some vibration when parked on a steep incline from the bonnet.
After going thru Cossies, XRs,205 1.9gti etc,. now with a couple of nippers I got a 6 seater.
The Wife would not let me get the 2.0L, so I got the new facelifted 1.7 2004 RN2 model in Satin Silver, the old model has only 123bhp and a reputation for inadequate power. The 2004 model 1.7 has 130bhp with an extra 7bhp and revised body esp the front which is now rounded and more aerodynamic at 0.30cd versus 0.32 for the old. Ncap safety is high at 4 stars and against pedestrians highest in its class.
Shell is extra rigid and feels safe.
I have a 4 speed auto and it feels OK, tending to only use the vtec on d3 only when the car is moving and not from standstill.
Going inclined uphill roads is not that great due to the 15.8torque, but the open road is really smooth and you can drive it like a hot hatch, it doesn`t roll like other mpv/suvs and is real sporty.
I also had a choice of a Toyota Picnic, but it seemed a bit big and cumbersome and more thirsty, my returns the same as my earlier 1.5 civic at HK$1/km!!!
Today I met a rascal driving a Toyota Picnic/Avensis verso/ipsum on the road
and gave him a surprise, burnt him ragged.
Although with 155bhp, 25more than mine, the Toyota is much taller and wider and heavier by 200kgs, so my lower, leaner and more aerodynamic stream moved more quickly with a whine from the vtec, followed it closely at 125km and it was unable to pull away.
I have black leather fitted, and with thicker hide and I asked for the seat area to be stiched so you don`t sit on a stitch line.
Middle row passengers get 1st class comfort as they can recline and everywhere the floor is flat, so your legs don`t get stifled, 3rd row is stowed away so I can fit in 2 foldable bikes and 1 pushchair.
There is so much glass area that the sun burns you, so I had some thick silvery grey cloth blinds fitted all round bar the front, they were fitted on top and bottom rails and keeps everyone cool inside and are legal versus tints.
I also have 15inch Honda alloys that look like the OZ Vela r, and Bridgestone Turanzas, these tyres are amazing, they are made for QUIET roadnoise, and good wet handling, much better than those high performance tyres which have high road roar.
I would recommend the 1.7 for family drivers and the 2.0L is more powerful, but with 10% more fuel consumption.
After market bodykits are on my mind, esp the Modulo kit with a silver mesh grille, or mugen front lip skirt.
Can`t see the point for a new exhaust
as the current one is quiet and adequate.
Maybe after the warranty runs out at 36months I may fit a HKS/Blitz/ITG air filter and a Fujitsubo double coil quiet Stainless Steel performance exhaust and Iridium spark plugs, which will give an extra 15-20bhp.
Don`t get the Nissan Prairie, it`s way behind in design and technology, and the Picnic is a bit lame (but bigger and maybe more comfy), other choices are the Mitsu Grandis, but those CVT gearboxes go kaput quickly.
My boss has just bought the 2004 Odyssey 3G, with electric 3rd row stow away seats, 2.4i-vtec and hid blue lamps and space age, walnut lavished fascia in that bluish mauve metallic, looks wicked, can`t wait to give that a spin.
It has 8 airbags and is riding low on 16inch alloys, could be a new classic in design, makes the others look geriatric.

Hi.
10,000km and this particular Stream is looking good, a small tiny dent from some bugger`s door, but
the engine run-in and is now more responsive, I added a K&N Air Filter replacement, and Mobil synthetic 5W 50 engine oil and there is a bit more Whiz, now with abt 133PS (abt 100/ton ratio).
A mate who has an earlier 2001 1.7 with 123PS said the difference was major and not far from the 2.0 in mid-range, we think the exhaust is totally different as it is slanted at the end, thicker and more boomy, could that be where the extra PS comes from?
The sun is a interior killer out here, so I fitted side and rear curtains in thick silver cloth (you can`t use tints in HK) with top and lower rails.
The car starts first time and there are no rattles or squeaks.
I`m fitting a colour coded Modulo front lower skirt which will make it more business like (side skirts later as hope wife will not notice) and will add a silver mesh to the front.
The Honda Alloy Wheels are much better than aftermarket things like Spoon Racing ones which I had before on another car, no wobbles or steering wheel pulls etc,.pay the extra and get originals, sometimes they look a bit bland, but perform better as they were designed for your car`s suspension geometry.
The handling is confidence inspiring, just like a Gti.
Well apart from a new SS quiet exhaust system to boost power by 8PS from HKS there is nothing I can do to make it go more.
Washing is not frequent, in between washes, use meguir`s range to remove grime and add some carnauba wax on, NOTE*don`t use the crap they call Turtlewax, your new car come with CLEARCOAT, so only use Clearcoat safe products!!
The Boss`s Odyssey 3G in Mauve metallic is here now and we are thinking of changing the detuned 160PS computer to the Japanese 200PS one, that will liven it up a bit.
We thought abt changing the 16inch wheels to 17, but think the ride will be too hard, in the end we are transporting people so...
Now I`m looking at something for Moi, there aren`t many choices so will report back soon.
16000km on and I have added the Mugen front lower spoiler, it changes the whole appearance, now more aggressive and purposeful looking.
It was an expensive item for the size of the part at HK$3880 or USD480 or 271 pounds, but it`s ABS plastic and already painted and the fit and finish excellent, GT Sport in HK fitted it, as plastic won`t break, parking near kerbs will be less risky versus fibreglass.
The geezer brought out a APEXi Stainless steel Hybrid megaphone muffler\exhaust, it looked neat and sporty without the drainpipe size of other makes (big doesn`t always mean better performance if the backpressure and wave travel is not measured for the particular car`s technical spec)
and I fitted it right away.
Result:
working with the K&N filter the Megaphone sounded boomy at low revs of 3000 but the tone goes up to a scream to 6000rpm (sounded like a glorious B16 old vtec), low end torque is boosted as I tested it in the Mid Levels roads, and right from start up the note is throaty.
The car feels much much more sporty, and I guess the bhp is now 140-145, but with the economy of a 1.7!!
24000km on.
Engine and pull now very responsive, I have used Mobil 1 synthetic Supreme oil and changed the gearbox oil as well regularly, always pulls to 6500 without effort.
Apexi exhaust a bit noisy, but sounds great.
Car starts first time and the K&N still OK, will change that to a HKS when it is too dirty as heard that the re-oiling buggers up your Mass Air Sensor.
Looking at buying a SLK or CLK for myself now the wife is sorted with the stream.

Hi Michael,
I drive a Honda Stream.. just bought one a month ago. I have a manual, which I could lend to you. Feel free to call me.. 9124-3762
Talk to you soon,
Evans.
I currently drive a 2001 Stream 1.7, and has you've heard, it has inadequate power. From my calculations, it also consumes a lot of fuel, 6km/L! I'm not sure if its the car, or if its all the hilly roads we travel on in HK.
Previously, I never thought about modifying the car, but do you have any recommendations for parts to increase power and reduce fuel consumption? I am also concerned about the price, and am not familiar with the aftermarket parts. I was thinking about a new exhaust and airfilter, so do you have any recommendations? Also, will the car be street-legal after these modifications?
I have a 2001, 2.0 vtech engine honda stream custom built with a reverse camera. I took the car to the car wash recently and I noticed that when the car is put in reverse the camera is not showing the back again. I think the cleaners might have changed the settings, but the display is in Japanese language and I do not know how to reset it.
Do you guys have any advice?
2001 1.7 Stream 9.7km/L.
All my modifications are road legal and inside the warranty.
The K&N filter and exhaust (noisy) really do make a difference, and yes, power is inadequate if you really carry 6 adults!!
This is a 4 seater with 2 occasional seats.
If you want a real 7 seater get a Elysion or Toyota Estima/Previa.
I now have moved on and have a new Titanium silver E60 BMW 5 series with :
6 cylinder magnesium alloy, valvetronic and twin vanios engine.17 inch spider 122 alloys, 6 speed steptronic auto +/-, 245mm run on flat tyres,
aluminium bonnet and front wings, alloy suspension and alloy, tower trut bars front, alloy
front and rear axles, black tiger wood, black leather,
elec rear blind, leather steering wheel, e seats, s sunroof etc,. car rides well on latest generation run on flat tyres
has dsc which is safe, and on the highway is really stable, looks cool with angel eyes etc,.
But miss the rough and rumble of the vtec.

Hi all.
I bought a 2007 Honda Stream RSZ with HID lights, 17" honda rims, 4 disc brakes, sunroof and 140 bhp. But I still feel that it is not as zippy in pick-up as my previous honda civic. However, fuel consumption is about 11-12km/L which is slightly worse than the civic, but I am satisfied with it for a MPV.
I am looking at the Mugen Exhaust for the Stream. Has anyone any knowledge about how much more hp or torque the exhaust can give? Thanks.
I just owned a Stream 2.0 VTEC. I previously had toyota corolla. But I like stream as it is a sport MPV. The power is great at 155 PS, but going up hill is slow which we need to use the manual option gear. Is a 5 speed auto which is like it so much as it can run like a aeroplane. The only thing about this car which I don't seem quite like is the engine noise. Even in 2.0 Stream, the engine noise could be heard, but it is not as noisy as 1.7L version. I wonder how I can improve or cut less on the engine noise. Maybe we can use a full synthetic oil, change to a better fan belt, adjust the steel timing belt.
I drive a 2004 1.7 Honda Stream which I bought ten months ago. It is very fuel efficient and ideal for my family. My only concern is that my passengers who travel in the back complain of not feeling the air condition. May I also add that I live in Jamaica where we have warm weather all year round.
What I would like to know is: Is there an A/C vent in the back that I do not know about? (Well the manual does not indicate that there is any.) Is there a special way to adjust the vent so that persons in the back can feel the full effect without the persons in the front freezing to death.
I do anticipate having some positive feedback. You may reach me at: headleysmith@gmail.com.
Hi all, I'm about to purchase a 2004 Stream 2.0. With the price of gas the way it is, economy is an important factor. So are maintenance and resale value.
I have liked the look of the Stream for some time and is now ready to take the plunge. Please give me reasons why my decision is wise or other-wise.
Ann-Ja.
