1966 Humber Sceptre review from UK and Ireland
"Sporty Saloon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Lots of things, but mainly my fault because of the way I treated it.
Original carburetor gave problems - replaced with twin-choke Weber.
New brake pads and discs as a result of driving too far on scored discs.
New clutch plate.
Rebuilt engine after revving original unit too fast and breaking piston rings.
Fitted modified cylinder head for more power.
Broke differential because it couldn't handle the increased power.
Fitted Kenlowe fan, radiator blind, electronic ignition, Philips RN712 stereo. (cost more than the car)
General comments?
Nice interior and dashboard with lots of gauges.
