2002 Hyundai Accent GS review from North America
"Good transportation for those on a budget"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to replace both rear brake cylinders at 75,000 miles. Both rear brake cylinders were leaking. Replaced the parts myself... Relatively inexpensive at $15.00 per cylinder. Replaced front and rear brake pads at same time. Fronts were in good shape, but backs were worn. 82,000 cracked manifold... This is how I found this site... My car's check engine light came on and within a day the noise coming from the exhaust manifold has increased substantially. I guess this is a problem endemic to this model. = (JB Weld is a cheap fix. =)
General comments?
Overall, I am very pleased with this car, despite the leaky brake cylinders and cracked manifold. It is a daily driver and to date has given me 34-36 mpg, driven mainly on the highway and at 60 mph. Interior is wearing OK... No major tears or wear spots... Some surface rust appearing on the exterior.
