2001 Hyundai Accent GL review from North America
"Very satisfied with this car overall"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I am the original owner of this car. After about six months of having the car, there was a transmission recall. I took it to the dealer and got it fixed. Other than brakes and tires, and one major tune up, I can say that this has been a great car up until recently.
I started having a problem when the car would shift from 3rd into 4th. The rpm's would rev higher, and then with a banging sound, shift into the next gear. I am not sure what the problem is. My husband took it to a mechanic and he said that he felt it was the transmission and said that he would have to send it out to a specialist to fix it at about a cost of $1600. But then I read on this site of the other part and now I am going to check into that. Maybe it will be cheaper to fix. I would like to keep this car and pass it down to my daughter.
Also, my A/C died at the end of the Summer, I will get that fixed next year.
General comments?
Good, dependable, cheap to run. Very pleased.
