2000 Hyundai Accent GL review from North America
"I got the bad apple!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My car usually runs great, but I have had two major problems. At about 10,500 miles I started having some shifting problems, I took it to the dealer and they replaced the pulse generator - problem solved. At 21,000 miles my car would not go into overdrive and again had other shifting problems; took it back to the dealer and they replaced the reed switch. This, however, did not fix the problem I went back and they replaced a cable. I didn't have trouble again until 25,000 miles; that's when my transmission was replaced. At about 52,300 miles I noticed that it lost all power when taking off, I went back to the dealership where they replaced the plug wires. Now my car has 53,000 miles on it and is having the transmission replaced for a second time - this time it totally locked up in the middle of the road in another state where I was stuck for 8 hours waiting on transportation.
General comments?
I really like my car when it runs, but it is not at all dependable and the "best roadside assistance" leaves you sitting if you aren't old enough to get a rental car.
