2003 Hyundai Coupe review from UK and Ireland
"Not a high roller, but good for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Yes, a bit sluggish in comparison to my Z3 2.8, the engine and build quality are not as good, but second hand for 5k at 28000 miles for the 2003 2.7 V6 model is a steal (as long as you check the brakes & engine before you buy, as they can be ragged by boisterous drivers).
General comments?
You get a lot of spec for the money, & they look good.
If you want better, the Boxster or Z3 is good value, but the running costs are a lot more. It all comes down to 'you get what you pay for'.
I recently test drove a 2004 GTi, which was very quick, lovely car 49k, but was it £6500 nicer than the coupe?
Similar priced hot hatches are hard to find for 5k unless they are stolen or damaged, and their price reflects their popularity, NOT their performance. The coupe is a good buy, but not from new.
