2001 Hyundai Elantra GlS Base review from North America
"If you are looking at civics, sentras of definately corollas go purchase an elantra!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The right wheel bearing was making noise at about 40000 this was quickly repaired by the dealer covered under the warranty.
The manual transmission fluid was shifting roughly quickly cured by changing it with a Gl-5 synthetic almost when the car was new less than 15000. Shifts like butter now.
The air bag light goes on occasionally because of the wiring beneath the drivers seat sliding the seat back and fourth loosens the plug slightly. Remedy push it together.
General comments?
The car is a super value for the money.
The paint could be much better, but its simple you basically get what you pay for.
