1999 Hyundai Tiburon FX review from North America
"Sporty... turns heads"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have owned my 99 Tiburon (5 speed manual) since 2001. I was the second owner. When I bought it there was 55,000km on it. Now I am at 190,000km and I am starting to get a pulsating only when I'm in 5th gear... I think it's something to do with the transmission (cause when I'm in neutral the noise disappears). Does anyone have any idea what it could be???
General comments?
Great car, but needs to be maintained. If you are not mechanically inclined... don't buy this car.
I have had to fix all kinds of little things that would have cost a fortune at the garage (ie... wiper linkage twice, wiper motor, power window linkage on driver side, all bearings and they are sensitive and need to be torqued to spec (garages always screw this up by using air tools instead of a torque wrench), alternator twice, regular brake jobs)... the rest of the stuff I had done professionally (ie...struts, clutch).
