1997 Hyundai Tiburon FX review from North America
"Overall has been a good car, but had a few problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The transmission was replaced at 140,000km.
Axle broke at 145,000 and piece flew into my transmission... another transmission!
Console lid has broken off 3 times. Horrible design.
Power locks stopped working at year 6.
Had many brake problems early on with the car. Lots of squeaking.
General comments?
The car handles like a dream. Very tight steering and a great turning radius. I can fit anywhere.
Despite the squeeking brakes, they are excellent and have saved me many time.
The interior is quite cramped and not made for anyone over 5'10". I am 5'9" and my head hit the roof while sitting in the back.
Excellent stock stereo speakers.
Black interior is unbelievably hot. Probably a 15-20 degree difference between my and my wifes car on a hot day.
Very sporty and I still feel pretty cool while driving it. It catches a lot of looks, even today at 7 years old.
