"Boy, I should have stayed home the day I baught this"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Motor codes needed reprogramed.

Paint Coming off.

General comments?

I really loved this car, until the motor had problems. When I would drive down the road, somtimes I would fell jerkiness. I was told this was due to the computers codes needed to be reprogrammed. That was the first strike.

Then I received a letter in the mail stating that the cars horsepower was false advertised and they were very sorry. I just threw the letter away, and was like o well no biggie.

One day I took my car to the car wash. I started to wash the vehicle and to my surprise, paint started flying off. I called Customer service, and they said "there wasn't anything they could do," because the car was 6000 miles over the paint warranty. Also they informed me that I shouldn't wash my car. So I informed them that if I had never washed the car, then they would say that's the reason they wouldn't fix the car.

This car has been well taken car off, and garaged at day one of purchase. I was going to buy a Santa Fe, but now I will purchase from a different car manufacturer. Stay away from this car. Stay away from this car.

That's bull**** I have a white 2001 xg300 and the paint is great. performance is acceptable for a 3.0 and it drives great! It has 124000km's not miles. it's great! everything works great. the only thing I don't like about it is the dumb handbrake. I keep resting my foot and I push the brake on!! lol.

I have a 2001XG300L. I have no paint, transmission or Engine light problems. But I do have a problem with the battery draining every day. Have a new alternator and it is working well. Only have 32,000 miles. I have to jump start it, if I let it sit more than 3 days. Anyone had this problem or have a solution?

I have an 2001 XG300. I had a problem with my battery draining so I had the battery replaced. It worked fine for awhile but the lights on the inside and the headlights started fading out, just about every system light from ABS, check engine, low oil, came on. Turns out my alternator was dying. I ended up having that replaced and now, 4 months later, even a week after new spark plugs, my car is starting to jerk badly again. I have had very bad luck with this car!

The paint of my 2001 is peeling off of the bumpers.

I also have had hesitation and lurching after attempting to accelerate from a coast. They replaced a throttle position module and 3 mos later the problem is happening again! Luckily I bought it used, not new.
