This car runs great. Of course it doesn't handle like an 02 Altima, but it is not a sports sedan either. Atleast twice I tried to crank up while the engine was on. Then I started to use the RPM meter to find out if the engine was on or off. It is that quiet.
Since I drive defensively and avoid jackrabbit accelerations, this car is a more than adequate performer for my needs. And I feel refreshed after driving it rather than exhausted!!
The car looks great at night time, especially the interiors illuminated. Hyundai has done a clever thing by removing all Hyundai identification logos at front. I have had atleast 10 people ask me about the car at parking lots and my colleagues just love it. In fact, my coworker just got a 03 XG350 L after riding mine and I weaned a potential accord customer to an XG.
And to all Korean bashers, I also own a 02 Kia sedona which has performed flawlessly for the past 2 years. I feel like a smart shopper after saving atleast $12,000 or more on my two cars for comparable features/comfort.
Hey yall, I own a 2001 XG300, the only thing I really didn't like was replacing the transmission at a little under 100,000 miles, 94,576 to be exact. Anyways, other than the transmission and no performance parts for it at all, I am quit impressed, I bought it from a local used car dealer I've known for years, about 6,500 was what I paid, other than its harshness on the wallet when servicing, I like it, the stock radio also went out before I owned it, so its now replaced with a Kenwood DVD player (a lot more impressive), but yes up and go is excellent for a lil V6, the auto-stick isn't bad, doesn't even come close to a manual, but hey, heated leather seats in Mn is a small price to pay for that, the backseat is adequate for night time fun, also curios if anybody else knows where I might find a center drawer for my car, mine is broken. also if anybody knows whether these cars came equipped with a turbo at all...
