1997 Infiniti I30 review from North America
"This car is excellent I would strongly suggest buying one!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter went at 120 thousand miles.
Speedometer randomly stuck till the car was restarted, the mechanic said it was the vehicle speed sensor has gone bad, the part was 100 dollars.
On both i30's I have owned the volume knob seemed to get louder when you try lowering it, to fix that you have to push the knob at an odd angle, this happeens around 120 thousand miles.
Check engine light was on again, the ERG valve was clogged, mechanic got the gunk out and it worked fine, only costed 10 dollars.
General comments?
Car is very fast for a 3 liter engine.
Handles excellent for its size.
Seats are very comfortable, I am yet to sit in a car so comfortable.
Although having trouble with the radio the Bose stereo does sound excellent.
Large Sunroof lets in lots of sun when you want, giving a nice open feeling.
If interested for a car in the Nissan family an I30 is worth every penny over a maxima, resale is also better than the maxima.
