1998 Isuzu Amigo review from North America
"quick and fun to drive, but not the most comfortable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The flange what connetcs to the manifold cracked, guys at muffler shop told this is a common problem on a amigos and rodeos. cheap to fix anyway ($50).ABS light turns on and off, I read that there is recall for this problem. Everything else seems fine.
General comments?
I was originally in a market for a wrangler until I drove one and read some reviews. They don`t come with any power options and ride is horrible. Performance wise this car is really quick, since it`s a 205 hp v6 and manual transmission. The gas millage isn`t that great, while driving around city and having some fun I only get like 13 mpg. The best I ever got is 16 mpg, but I do drive fast. The soft top is little hassle to put down since you have to unzip and take out side and back windows. But it is 300% easier to put back compare to 1st gen amigo. Once you get a grip you can do it in like two minutes. Sunroof can be also completely removed.
