What things have gone wrong with the car?
Tranny went out at 119000 miles. Luckily, still under warranty and had it replaced at dealer.
Fuel sending unit went bad at 60000. Never fixed it, I always keep it at least half full. No dealer coverage, but who cares! She still ran as strong as ever!
02 sensor went bad at 65000. Dealer told me which one went bad. I purchased a Bosch real cheap and did it myself. Quick and easy fix, not really necessary though, I could have lived without it!
General comments?
Really reliable truck. Built on a truck frame. Very solid. I tow like crazy, after getting the new tranny from the dealer, I installed a tranny cooler and aamsoil synthetic and know it will go twice as long as the original tranny (120000ish on original). Try 250392 miles today and counting!
Great acceleration, 23mpg highway, 19 city. I converted to full synthetic, q power 10w30 since 15000 and the car takes off like a beast.
Comfortable. Easy to maintain. I see too many comments that are bad and I see why. All cars have their quirks! Deal with it! Maintenance is key. Oil every 3000, synthetic if you can, treat her right and she will get you home everyday.
Too many sensor issues yes! MAF, O2, FUEL SENDING ETC. But most are things you can live without. Timing chains need changing every 80-100000 miles. It's just maintenance. Look at me, the car runs better even with the classic valve tap after the 120000 miles! She has over 250000 now!
