1999 Isuzu Trooper review from North America
"Will keep it until the engine blows"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced brakes, timing belt, serpentine belt at 100,000.
Spark plugs at 120,000.
Also 3 O2 sensors, air flow sensor, idling regulator.
4x4 stopped engaging at around 100,000 and had to be fixed for about $300.
General comments?
The car burns through oil, like all Troopers.
The engine runs great and is the car very comfortable overall. We've looked for new cars several times since we bought it, but as there are no serious issues, we've held off each time.
The car is also amazing to take off road. It handles great in snow, mud and all kinds of rough terrain. Very rugged but packed with comforts: heated seats, heated mirrors, CD changer, etc.
Will try to keep in running until at least 200,000.
