1988 Isuzu Trooper II review from North America
"Built like a tank and drives like one too!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Oil ports got clogged, which damaged piston rings and valve lifters.
Replaced engine.
Clutch.
Exhaust system.
Front and rear brake pads and rotors.
Clutch master and slave cylinders.
Brake master cylinder.
Shocks.
New wheels and tires (rust).
Repaired extensive rust in the cargo area.
Front brake lines.
Fuel pump.
Damn near rebuilt the whole truck!
General comments?
Built like a tank, rides like one too!
Excellent off road capabilities.
Front seats don't go back far enough (I'm 6' 2").
Lots of wind noise on the highway.
Woefully underpowered.
Sucks gas like no tomorrow for a four cylinder.
Easy to work on.
Expensive electronic parts.
Did I say this thing is built like a tank?
Slow acceleration.
Large gap in gear ratios.
I drive this thing on the beach and it's great.
Nice looking.
Lots of interior space.
Too bad it doesn't have a solid front axle.
