1986 Isuzu Trooper review from North America
"Great!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rust
Front Oil seal.
General comments?
The Trooper was given to me by my son
because of the rear leaf spring holders
rusted off the frame. That was a easy
fix for me and I drove it to death and
it would not break!
The ONLY reason the Trooper had no power
for a lot of people is because they used
BIG tires.. Mine *was* that way also. I
removed the tires and replaced with
factory size tires and had all the power
you would ever want PLUS better gas mileage.
I sold it for parts because the frame
was getting really bad. The guy that
bought it from me is STILL driving it
as a around town car..
I feel 86 was the best year for the
Trooper because it was the last year
before computer controlled engines took
over.
I rate the 86 from 1 to 10 and 10 being
the best, a 15!
I never could find ANY American made
SUV that held up like the 86 Trooper!
