1986 Isuzu Trooper LS long wheel base 2 door review from Venezuela

Rear wheel and differential bearings wear out at 140k miles costing me 200$ in parts and a week of myself labor

Engine metallic sounds at 160k miles, after dismantling engine, i found a piston pin failure all because excessive bad operation with low oil levels... causing a worn cylinder wall, destroy two engine bearings and one bad connecting rod... after rebuild engine and search a used connecting rod the isuzu run again on the road... the all rebuilding job was performing by myself costme including the new clutch, all new pumps about 1000$ in parts... after that I feel brand new car in old face SUV...

At 160k miles requires all new bushings and lower ball joints in the front suspension.. including new CV joints rubber... cost me in parts 250$

It's a light SUV that is easy to love for the reability... if engine oils change are done with regularity the engine last forever.. the performance is low, but fuel burn rate is low too.. amazing 3hours mountain trip at 8000ft of altitude go to 3000ft and come back again to the firts point with only 4 gallons of fuel! but not exceeding 2000rpm in all trip. In normal conditions 17-20mpg are expected, but the fuel tank in big (23gal) so the range is fine for long trips.
