2000 Jaguar S-Type review from UK and Ireland
"Grace with pace - it says it all"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Door rattles in a couple of doors.
General comments?
This is everything you expect a Jaguar to be.. graceful, quiet, smooth, quick. You can drive this car for miles without feeling stressed.
Niggles, well the instrumentation is horribly cheap which is a shame considering it's straight in front of you all the time you're in it (I see they've done a much better job in the new X Type).
The pop out phone holder is hilarious - around the size of a small put-you-up bed. This is funny given that the phone they supply is a tiny Motorola Startac.
The seats could be a little more supportive without going 'Teutonically' solid.
The nice thing is the way the car just goes when you put your foot down - no fuss, no noise, just sheer go. You don't even know that you're going at any speed until you look down.
