2002 Jaguar X-Type AWD review from North America
"Do not buy a used Jaguar -- you are asking for problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Severe coolant leak at 63,000 miles.
Several 02 sensors failed at 70,000 miles.
Bad map sensor circuit, contaminated sensor tip at 71,000 miles.
Misfire on all cylinders, replaced spark plugs and cleaned fuel injectors at 76,000 miles.
Two fuel injectors went bad, exhaust manifold needs to be replaced at 79,000 miles.
Head gasket blown at 80,600 miles.
General comments?
The Jaguar X-Type is overrated and will disappoint you with its high maintenance costs and poor service record.
Jaguar does not back up their cars. They offered me a 20 percent discount to repair the blown head gasket -- a $3,000 repair and the car only has 81K miles on it.
Stick with BMW or Porshe. The Germans know how to build cars.
