1998 Jaguar XJ8 review from North America
"dependable and classic"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
*Throttle body replaced at 40,000 miles because it caused the car to die at its will while on the highway
*Thermostat at 50,000 miles
*wheel bearings replaced at 55,000 with dealer recommendation.
General comments?
I guess my wife and I received a phenomenal 1998 Xj8, because other than the throttle body defect the car has been relatively problem free. The few problems that have arisen have been since my 16 year old son began driving, he enjoys cruising around in my wifes car (the jaguar) as opposed to his Explorer. The thermostat failed while he was driving it, no fault of his. Two weeks ago my son was ticketed for attending an illegal racing event, and the bad part was he was participating, the jag kept up well.
I do not understand any one having complaints on the performance of this vehicle, I have no complaints and I came from a 911.
