1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Cute little imports need to watch out!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The starter went out some how just sitting in my drive way. So it took 2 or 3 tries to start it.
I went off roading/hunting, and all the weight forced my Jeep to bottom out, and a hole formed in my exhaust, so it had a nice full exhaust sound to it (just like my 1990 Civic).
And it had an overheating problem, fixed with new water pump.
General comments?
I was glad this was my first car. Since I learned to drive in my mom's '93 Cherokee, I knew how to drive it.
The jeepster had a ton of power. Give it a little rev and the 4.0 shook the whole car. I loved going down town on weekends when people drove their little rice rockets, and wait til they rev their little 4 cylinder. Then all you heard was my 190 HP engine overpowering the Honda's.
I also loved the fact that on the freeway, I could easily outrun the imports. I would just floor it, and in a split second I was forced back into my seat, because of all the torque.
I'm sad to say that I sold my Jeep to a cousin in need, and bought a Civic. Needed to learn how to drive stick anyways. I know, I'm such a hypocrite.
