2001 Jeep Cherokee sport review from North America
"Ultimate beach buggy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The check engine light came on the day after I bought it, ran my diagnostic tool for "emissions control leak very large" took it back to the dealer they replaced a worn hose by the fuel tank, I've heard of other people with the same thing not a big deal covered under my "guaranty to pass inspection" warranty.
The dealer just replaced the radiator before me.
My mpg and oil pressure were not what it should be at first, some one hadn't changed the oil and air filter in a while, got a new air filter and oil change and threw some slick 50 in there and its running better than it should be.
Some odd engine or gear note or something around 67 mph or it could be the combination of tire roar and wind rush not enough to fret over.
General comments?
I've only had the Jeep for a month and a half and so far I love it.
So far the transfer case seems solid and tracks like no other on the beach the engine works the same as on land and it has good ground clearance.
Like others have said the cockpit is not made for tall drivers I'm 6'2" and if it was any smaller there would be problems, good room in the back seat, and good storage in the back and the back seat folds down if necessary.
Can comfortably load inside; 4 people, 4 shortboards, full fishing equipment, towels and 2 beach chairs, outside; 4 rods, kayak, 3 longbaords, I actually su my suv.
Let you know if anything changes, hopefully not!
