1991 Jeep Cherokee xj review from North America
"You can always trust it to get you through"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Exhaust was hanging off. I replaced it with a flowmaster. The shocks were blown. I replaced them with pro-comps. The lift is an add a leaf for a 3 inch lift. it doesn't allow the suspension to move freely. The 4wd isn't working right now because the hubs are messed up. heater burned up my fuse box. car was overheating. now has electric fan, dual core radiator.
General comments?
This car handles great and has the power to get through anything (at least what is possible with the 3 inch). I have had this car fishtailing through the desert at about 50 mph with a drop on either side of me. I thought it was going to flip or go off the edge, but I was able to steer it away from the edges, even when whipping back and forth driving completely sideways. I have driven down into a 4wd trail, only to figure out when it was time to go up out of the trail that my 4wd was out. I got stuck only a couple of times, this made me mad, so I gained speed and just powered through about 2 miles of 4 wheeling in 2wd. this is a great car and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. if I drive good I get about 20 mpg.
