2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport review from North America
"When I'm ready to get rid of this one, I'm looking for another one"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
What things have gone wrong? I guess the correct question is more along the lines of "Which things broke that were a total surprise?"
- Radiator at 80,000. The OE cheap POS that was in vehicle was replaced by a heavy duty quality, ALL METAL unit.
- Crankshaft positioning sensor at 130,000.
- Fuel injector failed at 165,000 miles.
- Driver side fog light was shot when I bought it. Case looked to be intact, but the interior was all rusted, corroded and broken up.
"What have I replaced because I maintain my vehicles and the thing is just getting on in age?"
- Shocks at 90,000.
- Battery at 110,000.
- Serpentine belt at 140,000.
- Front differential pinion seal at 150,000.
Other than what I have listed, the only other things I have done are just general maintenance items.
General comments?
- It rides like a Jeep, not a Buick and I don't expect it to.
- Tires and brake pads/shoes seem to last really well.
Driver/passenger area is OK, but I wish the rest of cabin had a BIT more room.
