1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport review from North America
"Dependable and capable off road vehicle that's rough on pavement"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The water pump has gone out twice, but I made the mistake of replacing the original one with an after-market model. The clutch had to be rebuilt at 140,000 miles. The handle on the shift lever came loose and I taped it to hold it in place.
General comments?
I originally purchased the vehicle to get me up a very steep and long driveway in Kansas City when it snowed. The vehicle handles very well on slick surfaces and I have driven through 24 inches of snow. It definitely gets you through some adverse weather. The vehicle ride is rough. It's a sports utility and rides like a utility vehicle. I would not recommend the vehicle to anyone putting in a lot of highway miles. It's great for short trips and off road. The vehicle has been relatively trouble free for 140,000 miles.
