The motor in the passenger window failed at 75,000 miles. It was replaced for around $200.
The driver's side seat has started to show significant wear at 90,000 miles and will need to be replaced soon.
The CD player often gives an error message when inputing a CD, but after inserting it a few times it accepts the CD and plays it.
This vehicle is very quick off the line and cruises just fine at 85 mph on the highway.
It has a great power to weight ratio and handles 4x4 roads very well.
The back of the car is a bit light so you need to have it in four wheel drive if there is any amount of snow on the ground.
When playing a CD while off-roading, it seems impossible to get the cd player to skip.
I'm glad to see you got out of a Ford and into a true 4x4
a Jeep!
I'm sure you will quickly become a Jeep loyalist as they are habit forming!
Any comment about cold weather??
I live in Upstate New York and this past winter was my first with my 1999 Cherokee Sport. It has 141K and is very reliable. One problem... it wouldn't start when the temps went below freezing. Very common where I am. I had to use starter fluid to get it going. I was given different advice about what to do. I was told a manifold heater would work. My dad has a 1991 Buick that started up immediately on the same day that my Jeep wouldn't. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
If you are having problems with starting in really cold weather, try looking into a crank sensor. This went bad on my Jeep and on my roommates 91 Buick. On top of the crank sensor I put in an Optima Red Top battery never had a problem since (I live in Michigan, does get pretty cold here)
