1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer review from North America

The starter decided to quit at 153000. I got an old/new one from a 97 cherokee... works good as new now.

The radiator had a hole in it about an inch in diameter when I first purchased the Jeep. A replacement radiator online was bought for $114. Quick and easy fix.

The most humorous thing that happened was when I was doing donuts in our hayfield and the rear left wheel came off the Jeep. I just looked out my window and saw my wheel go rolling across the field...interesting. The lugnuts had just come completely off somehow and the wheel had simply fallen off. A quick fix, I jacked it up and put the wheel back on, making sure to properly tighten the lugbolts this time around.

In general this vehicle is a complete and utter trooper. It is my first vehicle and I purchased it for $500. It is definitely worth a LOT more. The jeep looks great with the 2 inch lift, although the paint is all oxidized and is slowly peeling away. Even so, it just adds to the mean, agressive look of my Jeep. The gas mileage is incredible for this good of performance. The inline sixes really pack a bunch of torque and power into a little package. The 4x4 works like a dream, although I would love to get a set of lockers for it. I don't like the open diffs. Quite honestly though, I LOVE MY JEEP!!! It is a wonderful little SUV and I would recommend it to anybody, especially a new driver like myself.
