1988 Jeep Cherokee review from North America
"I love my Jeep!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear main seal leaks.
Radiator kept overheating mysteriously when it wanted to.
Valve cover gasket leaks a lot.
Air conditioning stopped working.
Heat hardly works.
General comments?
I own a 1988 Jeep Cherokee and drive this vehicle like a madman. I love it. Although it smokes and makes different sounds each day I drive it (nothing a quick wash at the car-wash can't handle), it's been the most dependable, fun, entertaining car I've ever owned. I just had a new Nissan and a newer Jetta, and they were garage rats (no offense Jetta/Nissan people.. but the cars I owned just sucked).
I came to this site because a friend wanted to sell me her Jeep. I am so glad I stopped by. Her Jeep shakes after 55 she said. Seems like you have helped me make up my mind. Shame on you New Jeep Making People. Take those rattle traps off the road and get the old plans back out. Jeeps are great, but I want to live. Thanks.
