2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition review from North America
"Satisfactory"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Having the same problem with the seat as many others. The metal in the power adjusted seat track has sheared and is separating from the base. Listed a complaint with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) yesterday. I would encourage everyone who is experiencing this problem to report it as well. Hopefully they will issue a recall and repair the defect, or reimburse those of us who have paid for repairs out of pocket.
The only other issue I have had with this vehicle was the temperature control module, which controls the cabin temp. It is vacuum controlled and would not always work. Replaced the unit and everything is fine now.
I personally still like my Jeep, but am concerned that the company will not address the safety issues with the seat.

General comments?
I like the overall handling of my Jeep. It has never left me stranded and performs great in Michigan's Snow filled Winters.
The company needs to seriously address safety concerns of owners with issues such as the seat breaking away from the base. Glad to see the recall on the brakes, but there are other issues which are not being addressed.
