1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Great vehicle if you need a trailer-towing SUV"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioning failure at 100000+ km, never got it working properly since.
Lift-gate shocks never worked properly since I owned it.
Dome light fell out.
Full-time 4WD means that all four tires must be replaced at the same time - you must rotate the tires on a regular basis, or you end up replacing rear tires that are not yet worn out.
General comments?
The engine has never given any problems, even as it approaches 300,000 km. All I've ever done is change the oil and filters, and check the coolant.
The paint is excellent, the car still looks good in spite of its age and high mileage.
Very good on the highway, and off-road.
Pulled a heavy 26-foot sailboat (6,000+ lbs, plus the trailer) across the Rocky Mountains several times.
Comfortable driving position.
Up to 14 mpg (imperial gallons), even with the trailer.
