2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Crap"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator at 75,000 miles.
Fan motor burned out.
Thermostat sensor went causing over heating, due to the fan not turning on.
Cruise control sensor.
Bad vacuum lines.
TPS sensor. 103,000.
Water pump.
Unknown as of right now, still in the shop for a flashing check engine light, giving the mechanic all sorts of trouble. Loss of power, very sluggish when being driven. Did happen after getting a fresh tank of gas.
General comments?
The car was pretty decent and reliable when it was first purchased. Then as time went on, things started going south. I understand maintenance is a must on all vehicles. Oil gets changed every 3,000 on the dot.
However, when one item goes down, three more tend to go with it. The cooling system in this vehicle is terrible. I have replaced everything from the fan, thermostat sensor, water pump hoses, and I couldn't even calculate how many gallons of anti-freeze have been put in and just come right back out.
Most recent is the flashing check engine light that has come on. When the car is put into gear, the rpms dip low and become very rough, shakes the whole car. No get up and go anymore. It's in the shop now, and they tend to think it's something with the fuel system.
Has anyone else had this issue, or any of the others listed with their 2000?
