1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Big headache!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Horn shorted out (twice within 2 months of ownership)
Power mirror motor failed (first year)
Fuel level sensor and fuel pump failed (1st year)
Throttle position sensor failed (2nd year)
Windshield seals failed (37,000 miles, 3rd year)
A/C Compressor failed (3rd year)
Transmission failed (38,000 miles)
Transmission failed after rebuilt (38,000+ miles)
Power steering pump failed (58,000 miles)
I'm sure there's more I can't remember right now.
General comments?
Very comfortable when it is running, but I no longer have confidence that it will get me where I want to go, and that makes it tough to drive. I've been stranded out of town twice, and that is not a good feeling. It did give me a good excuse to get a cell phone though :)!
