1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"A great all around ride"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Coil died at 95,000 miles, then again at 120,000 miles (bad mechanic the first time.)
Rear passenger side window doesn't like
going up/down on command.
Fuel pump needed replacing at 120,000 miles.
Driver side hub/bearing assembly replaced at 148,000 miles.
Some electrical problems; the dome lights won't turn off, there seems to be a short in the cruise control switch.
General comments?
The Grand Cherokee handles like a dream off-road. I take it over rough terrain and through deep mud several times per month and everyone around is impressed with how it handles.
I find the ride very comfortable, but notice that it is a little loud in the cabin (don't forget it's been on the road since '93.)
One of the best things about this vehicle is that I can work on it myself for a lot of problems (having had no training as a mechanic.)
